FAITH is more than a 5 letter word

A while back, I was awakened paralyzed in my thoughts "Why are you afraid? What are you afraid of?" God had a hold of me and I had no where to run. In that moment I thought to myself "How can I pray for a relationship that I am afraid of?" My heart seeks and yearns for a relationship with the Lord that nothing can compare to but my actions speak differently. That is something so easy for us to do. We speak these big promises of change or promises of building relationships or even simple promises of "Lets do lunch" but so to often do we fall short of our promises because we lack the ability to put into action what our mouth is dishing out.

As I looked back over last years lesson, I really found myself growing in faith a lot like Gideon and Peter. Like Gideon, I continually asked God to give me signs and prove to me what he was telling me was true. Oh how I look back and shake my head, I want to be like the child who hears Gods voice and says "Here I am" not the person who says "give me a sign". In other ways I was so much like Peter asking for the Lord to call me, but in the same way, fear snatched my attention losing focus on the Lord and I began to sink. Oh isn't it sweet words to say "Lord, save me" and he does! My prayer is that I don't "fall away" as Peter did. That I over come my fear through Christ who strenghthens me and clearly state "Speak, for your servant is listening." What will you do? Will your lack of faith keep you paralyzed or will you stand up and take that step of faith?

"He replied, 'You of little faith, why are you so afraid?' " Matthew 8:26
